Kicking off Creating Christmas today!
Today’s project covers a lot of bases. It’s a table setting, a magazine knock off and a center piece. And it’s cheap! You won’t even need hot glue. You probably have most of the stuff you need, the other stuff can be found at the dollar store or Walmart/Target. I pinned this a to my Winter Wonderland Board a while back.
The center piece is based on this:

I really liked the simplicity of the white candles with the mirrors and white pine (my personal fav for pine trees). Since my dining room table is in the dining room (I’m radical people) I nixed the oranges. Oranges and orange walls, not quite the look I wanted. I decided not to replace them with anything because the table is pretty small and liked the focus on the candles, mirrors and greenery.
Like a just said, my table is pretty small, but with only two people in the house we don’t really need a big one. Unless we have company I usually leave the leaf tucked away, less table means less room for things to be piled on it.
I started with a white burlap runner. Basically ~14inches wide and 2x the length of the table. Frayed on all edges. I didn’t even want to know how much a large beveled edge mirror would cost so I improvised. I bought 5 mirrored candle… plates? They were with the candles at the Dollar Tree. I got the pillar candles at Walmart. The branches came straight from the old back yard. It’s a mix of white pine and something else that happens to grow on my property (I’m a bad ESF grad).
The placemats and silver chargers are from Walmart (I was desperate). The dishes are the Heritage pattern by Franciscan China. I bought a huge box of these dishes for $5 at a garage sale last summer. The silverwear is from Oneida Silver Co. in the
Stanhope Pattern. I’ve had it for 5 years and we use it every day. I love the weight of the silverware and the fun swirly pattern. (Just looked at the prices! Oh my! I live near the store/factory and bought mine at a warehouse sale).
